Christmas Lyrics

Jesus Is Born Today

Jesus was born today, born in a manger
Though He was young they say, He was no stranger
He has set me free if I would believe
I'm so glad to see it is His birthday

Jesus was born today, oh how we praise Him
Shepherds and wise men say they will adore Him
Mighty love has He just for you and for me
I'm so glad to see it is His birthday (Happy Birthday)

I am so glad He came into my life
Gave me life, made it right
Now everything will be all right

Christmas Is Paintin' The Town

Can't you see it, can't you hear it
It's everywhere, It's Christmas
Sidewalk Santa, children whispering
Asking him please, It's Christmas

It's Christmas, It's paintin' the town
With red and silver bells and laughter all around
With scurrying people and greetings as you near
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Hearts grow lighter smiles get wider
It's in the air, it's Christmas
Choir singin, church bells ringin'
Loved ones are here, it's Christmas

It's Christmas, It's paintin' the town
With red and silver bells and laughter all around
With a magical morning and children as they cheer
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Christmas Carol

Like a fixture down on Main Street she stood there all year long
With a tin cup and a tambourine singing Christmas songs
Folks thought she was crazy but they loved to hear her sing
Drop some money in her can, she'd shake that tambourine

And they called her Christmas Carol
There's not a Christmas song she couldn't sing
I remember Christmas Carol
With snow white hair and a beat up tambourine

She wore that same ol' ragged coat all the year around
Lived all alone in a little shack just outside of town
She'd stand there singing Jingle Bells in the heat of the summer time
Guess every day was Christmas in Carol Johnson's mind

But I can still remember that twinkle in her eye
'Cause Carol kept a secret from the people passin' by
That secret was a mystery they talked about so long
How each Christmas Eve those gifts showed up outside the children's homes

That was forty years ago or fifty I believe
But still the toys keep showin' up each year on Christmas Eve
I wonder if we'll ever know just who took up the cause
Is is still Christmas Carol or is it Santa Claus

Silver Bells

Silver bells silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling hear them ring
Soon it will be Christmas day

City sidewalks busy sidewalks
Dressed in holiday style
In the air there's a feeling of Christmas
Children laughing people passing
Meeting smile after smile
And on ev'ry street corner you hear

Santa's Song

Well, my name is Santa and I live up north
Gonna land my reindeer on your porch
If you've been good little girls and boys
I'll put some goodies in your stocking and I'll leave you some toys

All night long I'll be singin' my song
Singin' Ho Ho Ho as I'm flying along

Got big ol' belly that shakes when I laugh
With a lot of ground to cover I gotta move fast
On Dasher and Blitzen, got a lot to do
When the sun comes up tomorrow, we gotta be through

Got a long white beard that gets in the way
Got a red and white suit and a magic sleigh
Got a lot of little elves that help me do it right
Merry Christmas to you all and to all a good night

White Christmas

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten and children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white

Happy Christmas Eve

Snow is falling look out the window with me
Come and hold me tenderly
And watch the wind blow
And people passin' by
The snow is in the streets, the kids are fast asleep
We're all alone now, Happy Christmas Eve

I'll turn the lights off and set the tree aglow
You wrap the presents and trim the bows
And say you love me for another year
The stocking have been hung, the carols have been sung
We're all alone now, Happy Christmas Eve

The snow is falling look out the window with me
Come and hold me tenderly
The streets are empty now and Santa's on his way
So while he's on his flight we better say good night
And wish each other happy Christmas Eve

Thank God For Kids

If it weren't for kids have you ever thought
There wouldn't be no Santa Claus
Or look what the stork just brought
Thank God for kids

And we'd all live in a quiet house
Without Big Bird or a Mickey Mouse
And Kool-Aid on the couch
Thank God for kids

Thank God for kids there's magic for a while
A special kind of sunshine in a smile
Did you ever stop to think or wonder why
The nearest thing to Heaven is a child

Daddy how does this thing fly
And a hundred other where's and whys
I really don't know but I try
Thank God for kids

When I look down in those trusting eyes
That look to me then I realize
There's love that I can't buy
Thank God for kids

When you get down on your knees tonight
And thank the Lord for His guiding light
Pray they turn out right
Thank God for kids

Ooooooh thank God for kids

Silent Night

Silent night holy night
All is calm all is bright
Round yon virgin mother and child
Holy infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace

Silent night holy night
Shepherds quake at the sight
Glories stream from Heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Hallelujah
Christ the Savior is born

Silent nigh holy night
Son of God love's pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace
Jesus, Lord at thy birth

And Mary brought forth her firstborn son
And wrapped Him in swaddling clothes and laid Him in a manger
Because there was no room for them in the inn
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field
Keeping watch over their flock by night
And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them
And the glory of the Lord shown round about them and they were sore afraid
And the angel said unto them, "Fear not, for behold I bring to you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior which is Christ the Lord."
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of heavenly hosts
Praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest. And on Earth peace good will toward men."

Little One

She sat by the fireside till her eyes became too heavy
And she wandered off in dreams with elves at play
Daddy found her sleeping and took her up to bed
Where she would spend the night in Santa's flying sleigh
Christmas was a whisper in her ear
Sounds that only children's hearts can hear

Little one in the morning when you waken
You'll find your every dream has taken form
There'll be joy, Christmas day will come to life
Because of you, you are love, little one

Mary lay and pondered till her eyes became too heavy
And she finally found the rest she'd struggled for
Joseph sat in silence he watched the baby sleeping
And wondered what the future held in store
Angel voices whisper in his ear
Reaching down, he drew the Baby near

Little one in the morning when you waken
The world will find that God has taken form
There'll be joy and the Earth will have new life
Because of You, for You are Love, Little One

Mary Christmas

It's Christmas, Mary's coming home
She is the only thing I want
Another year has come and gone
It's Christmas, Mary's coming home

I'm a-sittin' by the phone waitin' for her call
One short ring and I'll be gone to get my baby doll
We're gonna rock around the clock down at the Legion Hall
I can't wait to hear her say Merry Christmas, merry way

I wrote a letter to Santa Claus just like I was a little child
Said all I need was a little love all wrapped up in her smile
I've been good, but I'll be better in just a little while
He must have read between the lines
It won't be long and she'll be mine

Gonna be a Mary Christmas
It's gonna be a Mary Christmas

Oh Holy Night

O Holy Night The stars are brightly shining
It is the night of our Savior's birth
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
'Til He appeared and the soul felt its worth
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn

Fall on your knees O hear the angels voices
O night divine O night when Christ was born
O night divine O night divine O night divine

Truly He taught us to love one another
His law is love and His gospel is peace
Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother
And in His Name all oppression shall cease
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we
Let all within us praise His holy Name
