An Inconvenient Christmas Lyrics

Winter Wonderland

Sleigh Bells ring are ya' listenin
In the lane snow is glistenin'
A beautiful sight we're happy tonight
Walkin' in a Winter Wonderland

Gone away is the blue bird
Here to stay is the new bird
He sings a love song
As we go along
Walkin' in a Winter Wonderland

In the meadow we can build a snowman
And pretend that he is Parson Brown
He'll say "are you married?"
We'll say "No man,
But you can do the job when you're in town!"

Later on we'll conspire
As we dream by the fire
To face unafraid the plans that we've made
Walkin' in a Winter Wonderland

In the meadow we can build a snowman
And pretend that he's a circus clown
We'll have lots of fun with Mr. Snowman
Until the other kiddies knock him down

When it snows ain't it thrillin'?
Though your nose gets a chillin'
We'll frolic and play the Eskimo way
Walkin' in a Winter Wonderland

I Pray On Christmas

I pray on Christmas that the Lord will see me through
I pray on Christmas He'll show me what to do
I pray on Christmas He'll help me understand
And I pray on Christmas He'll take me by the hand

I pray on Christmas (my sweet Jesus) The sick will soon be strong
I pray on Christmas The Lord will hear my song
I pray on Christmas God will lead the way
And
I pray on Christmas He'll get me through another day

I pray on Christmas all the problems gonna be worked out
I pray on Christmas God'll show us what love's about
I pray on Christmas to do Your will each day
And
I pray on Christmas That I'll be with you some day

I pray on Christmas The sick will soon be strong
I pray on Christmas The Lord will hear my song
I pray on Christmas that God will lead the way

A Christmas Love Song

Here we are on Christmas Eve finally all alone
The lights are on the Christmas tree, the fire is almost gone
The gift from me beneath the tree
Can't say all I want to
So here's a Christmas love song just for you

Merry Christmas, Baby
Thanks for all you gave me
Every day and night the whole year through
No gift could show you how much I owe you
So here's a Christmas love song just for you

Seasons come seasons go, but love is here to stay
When we take down the mistletoe, you're still my holiday
I thought tonight the time was right to tell you how I feel
Girl, I love you and I always will

It Came Upon A Midnight Clear

It came upon a midnight clear that glorious song of old
From angels bending near the Earth to touch their harps of gold
Peace on Earth , good will to men from Heaven's all-gracious King
The world in solemn stillness lay to hear the angels sing

Yet with the woes of sin and strife the world has suffered long
Beneath the heavenly strain have rolled two thousand years of wrong
And man at war with man hears not the tidings which they bring
O hush the noise ye men of strife and hear the angels sing

For lo, the days are hastening on by prophets seen of old
When with the ever circling years shall come the time foretold
When peace shall over all the Earth it's ancient splendors fling
And the whole world give back the song which now the angles sing
O hear the angels sing

My Son

My name is Mary, Jesus was my son
I carried Him with a special care
Cause He was my first one
Wanted Him to be strong and healthy
Have a family of His own
Things a mother want for her child
But in my heart I've always known

That He'd go with His Father
When the glass ran out of sand
So please have patience with me Lord
I'm just a mother trying to understand
Why He sad to carry that weight
With no one else's help
Why He had to be the One
They could not be themselves

He was so many things to so many people
My Son, My Son
Teacher, Prophet, Messiah, King
My Son, My Son

I tried to stop Him
You know I begged Him, "Please don't go"
He put His arms around me
And said, "Mother I love you so"
Nothing left now but silence
And A weight that I can't bear
Please tell Him that I miss Him
Someday I'll see Him there

I felt the nails deep in my hands
And pain in every breath
They took my Son away from me
And the angels said that I'd been blessed

Beautiful Star Of Bethlehem

Oh beautiful star of Bethlehem
Shining far through shadows dimmed
Giving the life for those who long have gone
Guiding the wise men on their way
Unto the place where Jesus lay
Oh beautiful star of Bethlehem, shine on

Oh beautiful star the hope of light
Guiding the pilgrims through the night
Over the mountains 'til the break of dawn
Into the land of perfect day
It will give out a lovely ray
Oh beautiful star of Bethlehem, shine on

Oh beautiful star (beautiful beautiful star) of Bethlehem
Shine upon us until the glory dawn
Give us a lamp to light the way
Unto the land of perfect day
Oh beautiful star of Bethlehem, shine on

Oh beautiful star the hope of grace
For the redeemed the good and the blest
Yonder in glory when the crown is won
Jesus is now the Star divine
Brighter and brighter He will shine
Oh beautiful star of Bethlehem, shine on

The Most Inconvenient Christmas

Among the bills that I received was a postcard marked "Apology,
the Christmas gifts you ordered aren't in stock."
So I packed up the kids for Grandpa's house
Then a blizzard blew in and the car broke down
So, we shared a quart of eggnog at a truck stop

And I said, "Kids, this is unfortunate.
You think it's bad? Well it's inconvenient."

But the most inconvenient Christmas ever was
Was the first one, when God came so far to give himself to us
So when the stress hits each December
How it helps me to remember
God is with us most when things just can't get worse
The most inconvenient Christmas ever was, was the first

By the time we got to Grandpa's house
His Christmas lights had burned it down
So we had to take him home to live with us
But he couldn't stand to leave the farm
So now there's cattle in our yard
Sheep on the rug, pigs in the tub, and a rooster at dawn

And I said, "Now honey, this is unfortunate.
You think this is bad, well it's inconvenient."

A young girl expects a child she can't explain
Forced to walk a hundred miles just to give birth in the hay
While the king in that same hour
Fearing challenge to his power
Sent his troops to track him down and wipe them out
Yep, hands down...

The Christmas Song

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire
Jack Frost nipping at your nose
Yuletide carols being sung by a choir
And folks dressed up like Eskimos

Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe
Help to make the season bright
Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow
Will find it hard to sleep tonight

They know that Santa's on his way
He's loaded lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh
And every mother's child is gonna spy
To see if reindeer really know how to fly

And so I'm offering this simple phrase
To kids from one to ninety-two
Although it's been said many times, many ways
Merry Christmas to you

Beneath The Christmas Tree

I stopped to see the great fir tree that stood within the square
I watched it's sparkling lights shine through the cold and snowy air
Then some movement caught my eye below it's branches green
I wondered what could be there beneath the Christmas tree

Then I saw a little boy with tangled, golden curls
And blue eyes dancing full of life
Though life had been so cruel
He said, "Tonight's the night Santa comes
I hope he comes to me
And sees me just as you did beneath the Christmas tree

Silent night, oh holy night
How clearly, Lord, I see
But for Thy Grace it could be me
There beneath the Christmas tree

Somewhere bells were ringing as I slipped off my coat
Wrapped it 'round his shoulders and held his body close
On the night that Christ was born there's no way I could leave
This cold and hungry orphan boy beneath the Christmas tree

Silent night, oh holy night
I took him home with me
But for Thy Grace, it could be me
There beneath the Christmas tree

Just A Simple Christmas Song

Just a simple Christmas song
To wish you all a happy one
May all your love sent far and near
Come back to you this coming year
May all the troubles in your life
Turn into joy this Christmas night
And every star you wished upon
Be shining bright when morning comes

Merry Christmas

I hope this finds you home and safe
Settled in your favorite place
Around the tree a glow is cast
Lighting thoughts of Christmas past
Now you may say a silent prayer
For those you love who can't be there
Then say out loud so you'll be heard
Joy and peace to all the world

Merry Christmas
