Light Lyrics

I Don't Know Why Jesus Loved Me

I don't know why Jesus loved me
I don't know why He cared
I don't know why He sacrificed His life
Oh but I'm glad, so glad He did

Where would I be if Jesus didn't love me
Where would I be if Jesus didn't care
Where would I be if He hadn't sacrificed His life
Oh but I'm glad, so glad He did

He left His mighty throne in Glory
To bring to us redemption story
Then He died and He rose again just for you and me
Oh but I'm glad, so glad He did

Mama's Last Amen

Afraid to lift my head, I stand before You
Afraid that it's too late to be ashamed
Unworthy to be heard I call upon You
After all the times I called Your Name in vain

Oh Jesus I don't deserve Your mercy
Knowing right from wrong I chose to live with sin
But today my soul is cryin' for an answer to the prayers
That ended with my mama's last amen

She prayed that I'd be strong enough to follow You
And I promised her I would but never tried
She said Jesus if he stumbles give him faith to keep on searchin'
Oh till he finds the Tree Of Life

And Jesus let me go back to her bedside
Give me one more chance to follow You again
'Cause today my soul is cryin' for an answer to the prayers
That ended with my mama's last amen

Oh today my soul is cryin' for an answer to the prayers
That ended with sweet Mama's last amen

I Should Have Been Crucified

I was guilty with nothing to say
And they were coming to take me away
When a voice from Heaven was heard that said
"Let him go and take Me instead"

Oh I should have been crucified
And I should have suffered and died
I should have hung on the cross in disgrace
But Jesus, God's Son, took my place

That crowns of thorns, the spear in His side
And the pain, it should have been mine
Those rusty nails were meant for me
Yet Christ took them and let me go free

Through It All

I've had many tears and sorrows
I've had questions for tomorrow
There's been times I didn't know right from wrong
But in every situation
God gave me blessed consolation
He only gave me my trials to make me strong

I've been to lots of places
You know I've seen a lot of faces
There've been times I felt so all alone
But in my lonely hours
Those precious lonely hours
Jesus lets me know that I was His own

Through it all
Through it all
I've learned to trust in Jesus
I've learned to trust in God
Through it all
Through it all
I've learned to depend upon His Word

So, I thank God for the mountains
And I thank Him for the valleys
And I thank Him for the storms He's brought me through
You know if I never had a problem
I'd never know my God could solve them
I'd never know what faith in God could do

Jesus Is The Man (For The Hour)

Jesus your our Man for the hour
Jesus your our Man for the day
Keeping us together through your pow'r
Jesus take our hand and wash our sins away

Jesus lead us right and help us through
You can see the wrong that we all do
Lead guide direct our minds today
If you should leave us now, I know we'd lose our way

Jesus is the Man for the hour
Jesus is the Man for the day
Keeping us together through His pow'r
Jesus take our hand and wash our sins away

These Hands Of Mine

There are many things in life that I cannot understand
Yet the good Lord's blessed the labor of these two hard working hands
And when all my toil is over and I'm laid beneath the sod
Then these hands of mine shall touch the hands of God

Many times these hands have failed Him but He's kept me by His grace
Even though sometimes in kindness He's applied the chastening rod
But I'm going home tomorrow and I'll see Him face to face
Then these hands of mine will touch the hands of God

There'll be a welcome there for me far beyond that crystal sea
And I'll hold the hands that Calvary's nails have scarred
Then I'll enter through the gates, walk on streets the saints have trod
Then these hands of mine will touch the hands of God

After Calvary

Take my hand lead me through darkest valleys
At Your command I would move across the sea
Just take my hand and guide me
Where e'er You’d have me be
I’d do anything after Calvary

I’ll stand up oh and I’ll dare to be different
Unashamed I’m gonna try to live like Thee live like Thee
Just take my life and mold me
The way You’d have me be
I’d do anything after Calvary

After Calvary where You shed Your blood so free
After Calvary where You gave Your life for me
And I would be anything that You would have me be
After what You did for me at Calvary

It's Jesus That They Need

I gazed into the empty eyes of people walking down busy streets
Their minds confused, their lives abused trying to find reality

But it's Jesus that they need
Yes it's Jesus that they need

Some live on greed some turn to speed
But it does not satisfy
All they too soon know, then they're story's told
Then they lay right down and die

Some get a gun and just for fun
They kill a man walkin' by
The crime is done and in the name of fun
An innocent man has to die

In the corner there, with the golden hair
A young girl lifeless lies
Lookin' for a thrill now she lies so still
A final time she got too high

It Won't Be Long

It won't be long
Till we'll be leavin' here
It won't be long
We'll be goin' home

Count the years as months
Count the months as weeks
Count the weeks as days
Any day now
We'll be goin' home

Beloved now we are the sons of God
And it doth not yet appear what we shall be
But we know when Christ shall appear
We shall be like Him
For we shall see Him just as He is
In all of His Majesty Splendor and Glory
Yes we shall see Him just as He is
And I know that

We shall be like Him
We shall be like Him
We shall be like Him
Any day now
We'll be goin' home

The Flowers Kissed The Shoes (Jesus Wore)

I'm thinking back today to a time so far away
When the Master taught the people by the shore
How the little sparrow sang and the children spoke His name
And the flowers kissed the shoes that Jesus wore

He walked those dusty roads with a dozen thirsty souls
For he followed destiny to Calvary
How the little olive trees wept to see His misery
And the flowers kissed the shoes that Jesus wore

Oh they gathered there to see on the banks of Galilee
They heard the message brought from Heaven's door
And the blind and the beggar to heard His words of hope so true
When the flowers kissed the shoes that Jesus wore

Brother you can't understand the meaning of this man
And you'll never find what you've been looking for
Till you step down from your throne and you trust in Him alone
And you're walking in the shoes that Jesus wore
